This trend has been popular with the celebs for a while, but is now hitting the mainstream. The popularity of the naked dress has been on the rise for the past few years, with celebrities taking to the red carpet in the skimpy look. The wedding almost-naked-dress trend is an unfussy way for a bride to enjoy her special day.
The “barely there” dresses is the latest trend for daring brides. Still, anyone may to wear it as a costume, at home or to a party. On the other hand, the “barely there” bridal gown is expected to be one of the biggest trends for the wedding parties of 2019, as more and more women are opting to walk down in the aisle in their most daring looks yet.
The “naked jumpsuit”, first created by Spanish bridal label Pronovias, was first worn by actor Cristina Pedroche, during New Year’s Eve. Cristina Pedroche presented the chimes on the last night of 2017 on Spain’s third channel, Antena 3, wearing an all-in-one suit of near-transparent netting with lacy floral patterns in strategic places, making headlines worldwide. It features a full-length, long sleeve nude suit that clings to the skin so snugly that it looks like she’s wearing nothing at all. Along the garment, however, are strategically-sewn florals whose intricacies are awe-inspiring. In an Instagram post, Pronovias reveals that the design comprises more than 200 crystals embroidered into lace and Chantilly, and it took their team more than 244 hours to produce. Pedroche’s picture has also recently appeared in a Wedding dresses: Shortcuts piece in The Guardian titled From ‘secretly bare’ to ‘comedy nude’: a guide to the naked wedding dress, and mentions that the store Grace Loves Lace, which designed the most-pinned dress on the planet on Pinterest, has seen a 30% hike in orders for bridalwear made from transparent material.
